The Egg Breakers

  The Egg Parachute

We were excited on this day because we were informed last week to bring some eggs to the class. No-one had any clue as to what is the task we are going to get. The date was 27th of September, 2018 and this was our 2nd lecture on GNCT for the 2nd semester. After the lecture begun, we were divided in to 5 groups and each group was given an egg along with 5 A4 sheets and a cello tape.

Our group consisted of 6 members namely Asela, prasanna, ruwen, janaka, isuru and myself.  

We were instructed to cover the egg which we had with the papers, so that when structure is dropped from 6 feet, the egg should not crack. At the same time the structure should look creative and beautiful too. At first this looked like a real challenge for us. So first we came up with a plan after discussing among the group members. 

Then it was getting easier for us to figure out what to do. So we started tearing 4 papers in to small pieces and started rolling them and pasting them around the egg. Then we covered the whole structure with the paper which was left. We actually covered it to look like an parachute mainly because the task was to drop it down.

After the time we were given was over, all teams came out of the class room to check who has got through the challenge. All the teams had come up with awesome structures and designs. All the teams except one passed the challenge. Our team was also lucky to get through the challenge.

The day was really awesome and amazing as today we had the chance to get a novel experience.
